The Aubrey Park Hotel in Redbourn were refurbishing their establishment and therefore contacted Connect Dacorum to find a good home for a large amount of unwanted furniture and flat screen TVs. Druglink were delighted to collect all the items for use in their new venue at the building vacated by Hemel Magistrates Court.
Alpine press had a really good condition PC they no longer needed. Connect Dacorum put them in touch with Herts Scouts who were delighted to pick it up.
SWR of Eastman Way in Hemel took part in a Wear a Hat Day to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.
They said “SWR are very proud to have taken part in the "Wear your Hat Day" on Thursday 29th March 2013. Staff wore some crazy hats and bought cakes and raised £136.62 in aid of the very worthy charity - Brain Tumour Research. SWR and individual staff regularly take part in charitable events and in the last few years have raised over £2500 for charity.”
A group of colleagues from Connect Dacorum member and Berkhamsted-based company Ten2Two completed the British10k run in London in a bid to raise money for a local charity.
John O’Sullivan, founder of the commercial part-time resourcing organisation, ran the central London route with colleagues Ursula Chauvineau and Jo Foley for the Dacorum Community Trust.
The Trust is a self-funded organisation that makes small grants to local people, families and Community group get off the ground or help a family organisations in need. They may help a new in difficulty through ill health, disability, real poverty and the aftermath of separation, divorce and death.
John said “The Trust is helping people all around us, but you just don’t see it. It’s really hard for them to raise their profile because they necessarily operate under the radar.”
The trio have raised around £250.
